Broadway Bound

I might be biased, but I think my brother is a great actor. (And rather handsome, too, dontcha think?)

But, if you live in the Santa Barbara/Ventura area, you could judge for yourself.

He's starring in Neil Simon's Broadway Bound at the Ojai Art Center Theater through September 11.

Last night was opening night. I don't live close enough to make it an easy trip over to see it. But we'll get there soon.

Seriously, if you are in the area, you really should go. It's a great play by a great American author and I can vouch for the quality of at least one performer. ;)

Actually, Ojai is big on arts and theater, so you know it'll be high quality all around. Plus, I know the cast and crew have really been working their hearts out to make this a great production.

I know it's not like my little blog is going to pack the theater or anything, but I can't help but to brag a little on my baby brother. :)

If you do happen to see it, please do leave a comment to let me know! :)

I've broken one of my blogging rules today by posting this possibly identifying information and thereby endangering my (somewhat) super-secret alter ego. So, don't be surprised if this post disappears at a later date. :)

That's your brother?

He's a 1940's Pinup Bohunk. He's the young Rock Hudson meets Steve McQueen.

Too square-jawed, wiry and twisted steel for this era.

IE, yep...he's hot. It's in the genes.

PS--I've been to that theatre, and you're right, that area has three really good theatre companies.

Mintz: You want I should give him your number? ;) Just kidding.

I joke all the time that he got the beauty and I got the brains. But actually the SOB is pretty damn smart, too. ;)

He has to beat the women off with a stick, sometimes. 'Cuz he's not only handsome, he can be very charming when he wants to be. Or he can be a total smartass. Now THAT runs in the family.

good luck to him, but I ain't gonna make the play!

Don't worry; the internet has a long memory. Somewhere, a feed scraping site has archived everything here, so that it will remain long after you delete it.

Sorry; it's true. There are photos of my daughter that I posted on my old blog still visible even though I deleted the entire site and the image hosting account.

Good point, SFD. I know that nothing is ever *really* anonymous or "gone" when it comes to the magic of teh interwebs.

Mostly, I just settle for making it "difficult" for people to connect my Bruce Wayne with my Batman. That's usually good enough to keep the casual googler from making the connection. :)

Besides, my brother's last name is not my last name anymore, so that adds a degree of difficulty, too. ;) If you google me by my maiden name, there is no connection to my married name. That I'm aware of.

Heh. I sure spend a lot of time thinking about my privacy for someone who blabs about her life to the blogverse. ;)

Mariah: That would be very cool. If you do go, let me know and I'll send word ahead - see if I can't get you some VIP treatment. ;)

I used to live in the Santa Barbara area. I totally would have checked it out. Love Neil Simon and your bro is a handsome devil. Is he playing Eugene Morris Jerome? I presume so.

Hi John and Steve!

I was born in Santa Barbara and I still love the whole area. I'd live there now, if I could. :)

Yes, he's playing Eugene. I'm a big theater-goer myself. Or, at least, I used to me before the Minions came along. We don't make it to as many productions now as we used to. Ironically, this is the only one of the Simon's semi-autobiographical trilogy that I've not seen. So, I'm looking forward to seeing it on two levels. :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!

It's your job to be proud of your brother. I brag about mine, although I do tend to refer to them as "my little brothers."

Not your super secret identity!

Meow, your brother's good looking. If I wasn't married (two kids, car payments, etc)...

Love your Yoda quote. We say that a lot around here :)
